About US Airways
US Airways was earlier known as All American Aviation and was one of the many air carriers that benefited from the policy changes made by the authorities under the Air Mail Act, 1925. In the mid 40s and in the late 50s, the company began expanding its fleet by purchasing DC-3 and other aircrafts such as Convair and Martin Executives. In 1963, the operations were shifted from Washington to Greater Pittsburg International Airport. By then it had a fleet of 38 aircrafts.
Today, US Airways is the sixth largest airline in the US and operates from its H.Q in Tempe, Arizona. It is at present the largest low-cost airline in the U.S and flies to over 240 destinations. It employs over 37,000 people worldwide and operates 3,860 flights daily. The airline has hubs in Charlotte, Philadelphia, Phoenix and Las Vegas. City operations are maintained at Washington Reagan National, New York LaGuardia, Pittsburgh and Boston. View more on US Airways, www.usairways.com.
